About Me

When you're thumbing through old photos, what are the shots you're most drawn to?

When it's me looking through those photos, I like to see the essence of whoever is in front of the camera. For example, I want to see my family enjoying each other and having a good time. I want to see real smiles and emotions, happy, sad or thoughtful. I want to be able to look at my photographs and be able to relive the moment and feel the emotions as if I was actually in that moment again.

When you book with me, that is my desire, to give you unforgettable moments to have and relive every time you look at your images. I am very intentional and artistic in my shooting style. I have a physical studio space that I use for newborns, babies and toddlers. For my outdoor sessions, I am always scouting for the best locations and backgrounds. You can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to make sure you are happy with your session and your images. My favorite thing in the world to photograph is babies, but children and families are close to my heart as well. I also love to photograph High School Seniors, and in the last year, I have enjoyed photographing weddings! I hope that you will enjoy browsing my website and that something you see here will give you joy. That is the feeling that photography gives me. Pure joy!

Here is my story:

Photography and art have always been an important part of my life. From the time I got my first camera, one of my favorite things to do was to take pictures of every little thing I could and then rush back to see what they looked like.
As much as I loved art, I didn't take my first real art class until high school. (I was hooked!) After that, I majored in Graphic Design at Auburn University in Montgomery, AL and quickly found my 'happy place' in each and every art and design class I took!
It made perfect sense to me to make that my career path, however, I put all of that on hold to marry the love of my life and start our family! (NO REGRETS) :) That chapter of my life allowed me to be a full time Mom to the two most amazing kids on the planet! Having children made me understand the value of photography, because I wanted to document EVERYTHING they did with photos.
My love for photography grew stronger, with each year and milestone, especially after they started school. When my babies brought home school pictures, I was usually unhappy with them. I soon realized I could do it myself and began to photograph them more often. At that time, I was working with my family, at a good job that paid the bills, (and I greatly appreciated that - Thanks Dad!) but knew that I wanted to do something I felt 'called' to do, something I truly loved!  In 2009 I was able to get a little closer to that dream. I got a great camera and I started working less hours at my 'real job'. I was focused on learning everything I possibly could about photography. I learned my camera, inside and out, upgraded equipment, learned that, and took some photography classes. Fast forward two years, and in 2011, after many classes and workshops, lots and lots of practice (and the encouragement of my friends and family), I started my business, and by 2012, after many more classes, workshops and a lot more practice, I knew (for sure) what I wanted to do when I grew up! It has been an incredible adventure for the last 6 years, but I finally feel like I am doing what I am meant to do! I am still learning new things about photography every day, that is the beauty of being an artist. Photography is ever changing and evolving, but I have found my place and my purpose, and there is nothing that compares to that! I have no doubt this is what I was designed for and I love what I do very much!

I truly believe that photographs are so important. And the best kind tell a story. Remember the phrase, “A picture's worth a thousand words?” My goal for every photo is to have it be worth a thousand and one.

P.S. I am based out of Montgomery, AL, but am always open to travel, as well!
